A Closing Note from Our Founder
Dear families,
As West Coast Baby Care prepares to close its doors, I want to take a heartfelt moment to thank you.
Over the past nearly eight years, it has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve families here in Portland, across the nation, and from around the world. Whether you were welcoming a new baby, searching for the right nanny, or simply needed a trusted hand to help steady the journey—thank you for letting me be part of your story.
I am deeply grateful for the trust you placed in me and in this business. Thank you for believing in our vision of warm, relationship-centered care, and for allowing West Coast Baby Care to be a part of your family’s most sacred moments.
As I transition out of this role, the decision has been guided not only by a return to a career that is deeply meaningful to me, but also by a renewed commitment to balance health and well-being. This change allows me to show up for others while also honoring the pace and care my own life needs right now.
I’m returning to another calling that is close to my heart—supporting Portland-area families in crisis as they navigate the complexities of raising children with mental health or developmental needs. It is a continuation of the same mission: to walk beside families with compassion, integrity, and hope.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the memories, your faith, and your grace. It has been a privilege to walk this road with you.
With gratitude and warmth,
Sheryl Cooksley Founder, West Coast Baby Care
