ABOUT THE FAMILY:
These first-time parents are eager to give their baby and family the best possible start. Mom, recovering from a C-section, looks forward to the comfort and care of a postpartum doula, while Dad appreciates the support and guidance in caring for both Mom and baby. Grandma will be staying with them for a few weeks and is eager to learn about current care standards. Additionally, the family’s Labradoodle will need some attention as they help their pet adjust to the new arrival.
THEIR IDEAL NANNY:
• Extensive Newborn Care Knowledge – Well-versed in newborn care, including feeding, soothing techniques, safe sleep practices, and overall infant well-being.
• Compassionate & Supportive – Provides emotional support and reassurance to the family, creating a calm and nurturing environment during the postpartum transition.
• Culturally Sensitive & Adaptable – Respects and accommodates cultural traditions while ensuring newborn care aligns with AAP guidelines.
• Punctual & Reliable – Arrives on time and provides consistent, dependable care during both day and overnight shifts.
• Mother-Centered Support – Assists with breastfeeding and pumping, offers guidance on recovery after a C-section, and ensures the mother has time to rest and heal.
• Newborn Care Responsibilities – Handles burping, swaddling, diaper changes, and general infant care, giving parents confidence and hands-on learning opportunities.
• Parental Education – Helps family members develop newborn care skills, ensuring the baby establishes healthy habits from the start.
• Flexible Scheduling – Available for a combination of day and overnight shifts, ideally for 2-3 weeks, to support the family’s transition.
• Encourages Rest & Recovery – Prioritizes the mother’s well-being by assisting with baby care so she can recover from childbirth.
• Guidance on Best Practices – Advises on safe sleep, soothing techniques, feeding routines, and other essential newborn care practices.
You are a Newborn Care Specialist and Postpartum Doula who will play a key role in easing the transition for the entire family, providing both practical and emotional support during this critical period.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous professional experience
- More than 2 years professional experience
- Professional training as Postpartum Doula and/or NCS
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Current Infant/Child CPR/First Aid Certification
- Certified Postpartum Doula
- Certified Postpartum Doula
HEALTH REQUIREMENTS:
- Non-smoker
- Fully vaccinated including flu, Tdap, and Covid-19
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:
- Reliable vehicle
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willing to authorize a background check
