ABOUT THE FAMILY:

This family is built on curiosity, empathy, and a deep commitment to learning and growth. They believe in creating a home where questions are encouraged, emotions are validated, and each member is given the space to express themselves authentically. Instead of making assumptions, they seek to understand—whether it’s through asking their children how they feel rather than telling them. They embrace a growth mindset, always open to new perspectives and adapting as they navigate the joys and challenges of parenting.

Dad is described as curious, silly, calm-natured and intentional, working in technology as a product leader. Mom is an entrepreneur, and the owner of a new Portland based business. She is described as lovely, driven, a problem solver, and resilient! Both parents approach parenting with a leadership mindset—guiding, supporting, and listening to their children while fostering independence and confidence. They believe in balancing structure with flexibility and always prioritize connection.

Together, they create a warm, welcoming, and joyful home, filled with music, laughter, and opportunities for adventure. Their family values focus on presence, open communication, and honoring each child’s unique personality.

About the Children

Child 1 is a bright, energetic, and highly verbal 3.5-year-old with an incredible ability to communicate. A natural storyteller and imaginative thinker, this child thrives on pretend play, whether dressing up, painting, or building intricate make-believe worlds. They are incredibly observant, noticing even the smallest details, and have a sharp memory—nothing gets past them! Socially, they are warm and inclusive, eager to engage with a wide range of people rather than sticking to one particular group. They love music and dancing, and while they have a naturally social personality, they also appreciate having their own space when needed.

Child 2 is a sunny and affectionate 1.5-year-old with an infectious love for snuggles, dancing, and reading. Always eager to be part of the action, this child adores interacting with others, often bringing small gifts like a parent’s coffee cup or a sibling’s toy as a thoughtful gesture. They are highly musical, constantly drumming, swaying to tunes, and lighting up at the sound of a favorite song. They have a strong love for books, often flipping through them independently. This child is a nature lover, always excited to go outside and explore. They are still learning boundaries with their older sibling but are deeply caring, often rushing to check on their baby sibling when they hear a cry.

Child 3 is the family’s easygoing little snuggle bug. At just a few months old, they have already shown a calm and peaceful nature, adjusting well to a consistent routine and sleeping in longer stretches. They are deeply loved by their older siblings, who often refer to them as “my baby” and delight in helping care for them. Though still very young, this child has a sweet and observant demeanor, occasionally letting out a little squawk before soothing back to sleep. Their laid-back personality brings a gentle presence to the home, and they enjoy being cuddled and cared for by the whole family.

THEIR IDEAL NANNY:

This family is looking for a warm, engaged, and mindful nanny who takes genuine joy in spending time with young children. The ideal candidate sees their role not just as a caregiver but as a trusted and valued presence in the children’s daily lives—someone who delights in their company, encourages their curiosity, and nurtures their independence.

The family follows a Montessori-inspired approach and prioritizes emotional intelligence, supporting their children in expressing and processing big feelings in a healthy way. They seek a nanny who is patient, calm, and centered—someone who does not take toddler emotions personally and responds with understanding rather than reaction. Instead of enforcing punishments, they use language that acknowledges emotions while setting clear boundaries, encouraging the children to articulate their needs and work through challenges collaboratively. The nanny should be open to mirroring this approach and embracing the family’s mindful and intentional parenting style.

Engagement is key, as screens are not a part of the daily routine unless a child is sick. The home is set up for rich, hands-on play, with an incredible playroom featuring monkey bars, a climbing wall, a foam pit, and imaginative play spaces. The nanny should enjoy fostering creativity through music, art, outdoor adventures, and interactive storytelling. Whether it’s dressing up in costumes, making up silly voices during story time, or dancing to music, the ideal nanny will be someone who truly enjoys playing and being present with the children.

Reliability is essential, as the family values consistency and structure. The nanny should take good care of their own well-being and be dependable in their schedule. Organizational skills are a plus, as small tasks like tidying play areas, checking mail, and handling children’s laundry are part of the daily rhythm. The family appreciates someone who naturally looks for ways to be helpful and takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized environment.

A typical day begins at 9:00 a.m. with one-on-one time with the toddler, engaging in play, feeding, and outdoor activities. During nap times, the nanny assists with light household tasks before transitioning to caring for the older sibling in the afternoon. The late afternoon and early evening are filled with free play, outings to nearby parks, and supporting the children in their natural rhythms until dinner.

The nanny should also be open to occasional travel with the family. Experience with infants and managing multiple children is ideal.

Ultimately, the family seeks someone who will be a loving, steady, and playful presence in their children’s lives—someone who aligns with their values, becomes a trusted part of their home, embracing their values of warmth, curiosity, and connection and finds joy in being an integral part of their daily world—possibly for years to come.
